A Heartfelt Thank You
We wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to A Night With The Artist! It was rather busy at times, so we did not get to spend as much time with everyone as we would have liked. If you have any questions on designs, colors, etc, we are always happy to help you with that.
For those of you who could not make it, starting 9/18/10, we will have the new items from both artist on display.
Thanks again to all of our great customers and to our two very talented artists: Sandra Helm (of Buckaroo Beads) and Susan Bailey (of Turtle Soup Beads)!

Two New Books...
200 Beading Tips, Techniques & Trade Secrets. Trade Secrets? There are no secrets in beading! The more we teach you, the more we get you hooked :) This really is a good book especially for a newer beader.
Beadmaille. This book combines chainmaille and seed bead work. REALLY cool ideas! I think it is written for some one who has done at least one chainmaille project before. So, if you have not, take a look at our class list to see the upcoming classes.

Attn. Embroidery Lovers:
New From Hidden Forest Gems… WOOD CABOCHONS. These hand cut cabs are so pretty that I want to keep them all for myself! I am especially impressed how light-weight these are (about a third of the weight as a stone of the same size).

Well, these new keys from Susan Bailey, of Turtle Soup Beads, certainly do make us happy!
They are fun and whimsical in their own right, but add them to some of her other beads, and you have the makings for a stunning necklace!

Bead Aligners = No More Sloppy Designs.
Just in time for the Buckaroo Bead Trunk Show... We just received a shipment of TierraCast’s new Bead Aligners. These beads are specially shaped to fit on either side of a lampwork (or other large hole) bead to prevent wobbling. Jenn was skeptical at first, but now loves them! For now, we are keeping them in the display case with the lampwork beads, so ask us to see them next time you are in.

Let's talk about color
Over the past two weeks we have had a lot of customers ask us how we come up with color. The simplified answer is that it is all around us.
Find you favorite photograph/painting; sit in your favorite part of the garden; pull your favorite shirt out of the closet. Take a long, close look at the colors. Now, look at the proportion of colors. For instance, right now I love my garden. There are several shades of green and just a riot of different purples... This was the inspiration for our Fantasy Flower Cuff!
If you need more help, we are always here for you. Also consider the Beaders Color Pallet by Margie Deeb. It has really opened my eyes to how I look at things. Plus, on the right side of our blog we have a random color selector. If you do not like what popped up, the click on "another" and find one that speaks to you.
Happy Beading!

Yikes, I really need your help!
A couple weeks ago my computer died. After a lot of work (thank you Dad!), we got most of the information back. However, I did lose part of my mailing list. For those of you who signed up to receive my newsletter via regular mail (between August, 2009, and now) I have lost your information. Please, click on the link to the right to sign up for the e-mail version. If you prefer the regular mail then stop in, call, or e-mail us. Make sure to tell your friends too.
Thank you!

For those of you who have not heard...
One night last week I stayed late and went crazy ordering seed beads. Yesterday, 212 pounds of beads arrived. It will take us a couple of weeks to get all of them tubed, labeled and on the wall but I wanted to tease you a bit... The picture is of the new Apollo line. This line combines matte, opaque colors with copper. We have had the top color for a while now and it is a fast seller so do not wait too long to get your hands on the new ones!

We are back from the Tucson buying trip!
We had such a good time and found so many great things for you! We are frantically pricing, labeling and hanging up what we got. Stop by often to see the new beads. (Hint: If you stop in each day to see what is new, you have a better chance of grabbing a new design before it is sold out.)
